Professional Dance Biography

As an international, Latin dance performer, instructor and choreographer, Katherine has given workshops and performances in congresses and festivals in Milwaukee, Puerto Rico, Cincinnati, Chicago, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Miami, and internationally in Brazil, China, Cambodia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, India, Thailand, and Mexico.  

Katherine has over 15 years of classical ballet and pointe training and has also trained in a variety of Latin dances including Puerto Rican folklore, Argentine Tango, and Afro-Cuban Rumba.  She first learned Salsa in 2001 from a Venezuelan while she was living in Beijing, China.  Katherine then began dancing professionally in 2003 and has been dancing and teaching Latin dance nationally and internationally since then.

Katherine is currently performing and touring with Claudia Sol from Mexico (http://www.claudiasoldanza.com/). In the past, Katherine has had the privilege of performing with Urban Vibe Dance Co. (Chicago), Los Soneros del Swing Dance Co. (Chicago), and choreographing and performing with Salsa Soul Dance Co. (Wisconsin). She has also taught at Latin Rhythms Dance Academy (Chicago).  Katherine enjoys fusing different dance styles into her salsa and has a passion for teaching others to dance with technique and grace.

Katherine is available for congresses, workshops, group and private lessons, and parties.  She teaches On1 and On2 salsa/mambo shines and partnerwork (all levels), ladies styling (all levels), cha cha cha (footwork/partnerwork), bachata, merengue, forro, plena, kizomba, afro-cuban rumba, timing, and body movement.
